Other Ways to Join

If you are unable to apply online, you can also join Sheffield Credit Union using the membership forms below. You can also contact us and ask us to pop a form in the post for you to complete and return.

Proof of identity

Here is a full list of accepted documents.

This helps guard against identity theft and other problems.

We will copy these for our files and give them straight back to you. Or you can opt for the automated ID check on the form.

Loan Application

If you would like to apply for a loan, please read our Loan Terms & Conditions, and then complete a Loan Application form.

Alongside your application form, we will also need the following:

  • Your most recent three months' bank statements.
  • If you receive Universal Credit, a copy of your payment breakdown, showing the elements you receive and any deductions.
  • If you are Self-Employed, a copy of your most recent self-assessment tax return, or a letter from your accountant confirming your income.
  • If you have any other income not shown on your bank statements, proof of income - such as a wage slip if you are paid in cash, or letters for any benefits or pensions.

Joining fee & Next steps

  • Once you have completed your application, please return it to our office. You will also need to pay your £5 joining fee to activate your account;
  • If we need any additional proof of identity, proof of address, or proof you qualify for membership, we will contact you to ask for this;
  • We will send you a welcome pack, and ask you to return a signature letter and nominated bank account form (so that you can request withdrawals from your savings or have any loans paid out to you);
  • You will also be given a membership number, so you can start paying in to your savings account if you wish. We will automatically set you up with an Easy Saver account once you have paid your joining fee;
  • You are also free to apply for loans, budgeting accounts, or our other savings accounts when you wish (subject to status and terms & conditions);
  • Once joined, you can register for on-line access to track your savings balances, request withdrawals and make use of our other online features.
