Right to Cancel

Right to Cancel: Please Read Before Submitting Your Application.

If you apply for your account online and decide to cancel within 14 days, you have a right to cancel your account.  From your £5 joining fee, £4 of this is non-refundable as it covers the costs of processing your account on opening. Any funds in savings accounts will be returned to you.

If you apply for a loan, you will automatically be applying to open a membership account too. Only members are able to access loan products, and so the joining fee will still apply.  Separate details of how to cancel a loan once you have signed the agreement will be included with the loan agreement. This will only apply if you sign your agreement by email or post rather than signing in office.

  • Writing to Cancellations, Sheffield Credit Union, 35 Townhead Street, Sheffield, S1 2EB.

On submitting your application you will receive a receive a welcome email with full details of how your savings are covered by the FSCS. We will also send you details of our Complaints Procedure.
