Sheffield Credit Union Offers Price Guarantee

June 15, 2023

To ensure that more local people can benefit from ethical savings and loans in these times of high cost lenders and loan sharks, Sheffield Credit Union has introduced a new offer to homeowners and employees of payroll deduction partners.

The price guarantee is intended to raise awareness of ethical borrowing opportunities, with the extra benefit being that credit unions encourage and promote building savings.

"The credit union staff have been a brilliant support, I joined when my finances were a mess, but with their help I am now on top of things, I even have savings!!!" (Sue, Credit Union Member).

Homeowners and employees of our payroll employer partners (details of participating employers available here) can apply for loans from £200 to £10,000.  "If they have received an offer from another lender, we will beat the offer, subject to terms and conditions.  They will have the benefit of this offer plus knowledge that they are with an ethical, not-for-profit supportive local financial organisation." (Simon, Loans Manager).

Interested people can apply for a loan 24/7 online or request a paper loan application form, by calling the helpline on 01142760787 or emailing admin@sheffieldcreditunion.com.

The key points are that:

  • No savings required before applying for a loan
  • Flexible repayment terms over a maximum of 60 months
  • Low interest rates, from 10.7 to 17.5 APR as standard
  • No administration fees or charges for early settlement

Representative Example: Loan amount of £3,000 with a monthly repayment of £139.00 over a term of 24 months at a rate of interest per annum (fixed) of 10.25. This is the equivalent to 10.7 APR Representative. Total amount repayable is £3330.20.

*Terms and conditions available on www.sheffieldcreditunion.com/price-guarantee.  All loans are provided subject to status and affordability. Please be aware that you may pay more interest and be subject to additional charges if your loan repayments are not received on time.
